major updates to module 1

Hello, Yesh here.

Today, I'm going to announce a few major changes to module one of our SEO Training Course, particularly on the following lessons:

  • Domain Name Registration
  • Setting Up Your Webhost
  • Initial WordPress Website Setup

Starting in August 8th, new students will no long be required to buy their own domain name and set up their own WordPress websites.

These 3 lessons are still included as bonus lessons in the course. It's your choice if you want to follow along these lessons.

There are three reasons to this.

Reason 1: We don't want you to spend more money on a domain name.

Even though a domain name is only around $7, it still feels bad to spend again after just having enrolled in the course.

We don't want our students to be financially burdened by this course, so we want to reduce as much spending as possible.

Reason 2: Students get stuck on troubleshooting WordPress issues instead of learning SEO.

While WordPress can be picked up by just about anyone, the learning curve is still steep, and we noticed that most of our students get stuck trying to learn WordPress rather than learning SEO...which is obviously not a good thing.

So, we want to pull back on the lengthy WordPress tutorials and enable our students to spend more time on learning SEO instead.

Reason 3: It's unsustainable.

Our hosting plan simply can't keep up with the influx of new websites, and we already upgraded to the $400/year plan!

So What's The Alternative?

We still like the idea of teaching our students to make their own portfolio websites.

After exhausting all options, we decided on creating a hub where every student can create their own portfolio website.

Introducing SEOPhilippines.co:

For now, it's a place where you can create your portfolio page, minus the hassle of wading through WordPress and spending extra money on a domain name.

In the near future, we'll build this into a place where employers can look to hire competent SEO Specialists.

Take a look at how your portfolio will look like:

First, it looks way better than the old WordPress theme we're using.

So sleek, so modern. *chef's kiss*

Second, it'll still teach you how to use WordPress, but just a little.

And third, you don't need to spend several days setting up your website! You can finish this in an hour, provided you have the content ready.

When is this going live?

The tutorials for the Portfolio Page will go live on the second or third week of August.

FAQs

I'm not a student, but I want to have a portfolio page. Is that possible?

Unfortunately, that's not possible right now. SEOPhilippines.co is reserved for students only.

I'm a new student, how can I set up my own portfolio page?

I'm already a student that has portfolio website. What happens now?

Nothing. Your portfolio website is yours to keep. You'll still enjoy your 1 year free hosting.

I'm already a student that has a portfolio website. Can I still have a portfolio page?

Yes! All you have to do is follow the lesson on how to set this up.
