An SEO audit can be likened to car maintenance. Over months of use, wheels get misaligned, engine oil gets dirty, and windshield wipers start to squeak. In this case, it's common sense to get your car fixed first before you can drive it again.

Similarly, websites accumulate errors over time. Pages are implemented with bad SEO practices like unoptimized URLs or over-optimized content, and website hierarchy becomes a tangled mess of categories and tags.

Enough of these pages can result in a devaluation of your website. That is, search engines will decide that your pages don’t deserve visibility in their search results.

And like a decent car mechanic with a checklist of things they need to go through, a good SEO Specialist has a list of things he or she needs to go through as well.

Unfortunately, this can be a very daunting task, especially for new SEO specialists. There are so many things that make up a website that it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Worse, you may miss important tasks that should have been done!
